Unseen Service is a work of abstract figurative art dedicated to the veterans who return home from war zones, only to become forgotten once their service is over.
The portrait depicts a face partially concealed behind fractured, angular forms. Its muted palette of charcoal, grey and ivory is interrupted by restrained touches of gold, while two watchful eyes remain visible through the divisions.
The fragmented composition reflects the difficult transition from military service to civilian life, and the uncomfortable reality that those who have served can become almost invisible once they return home.
The title, Unseen Service, speaks to this contradiction: people whose sacrifices are publicly acknowledged, yet whose struggles and needs may go unnoticed long after the conflict has ended.
Presented as an 80 Ă— 80 cm premium fine art print beneath acrylic glass, Unseen Service is available in a limited edition of just 50. Each artwork is supplied frameless, with aluminium mounting rails included and an individually numbered certificate of authenticity.
